Life in Germany vs. USA – 10 Things We Don’t Have in Germany
Let’s have some fun comparing life in Germany vs. USA! Here are 10 things we no longer have or own in Germany that we used to have in the USA. Do you think you could live without some of these things?

In February of 2021, we picked up our American family of six, with four kids ages 11 and under, and moved halfway across the world to Germany! It has been a whirlwind and we’re already growing stronger and better from the experiences we are having. It has NOT been easy, but that’s how it usually is in life when you go after your dreams!

Life in Germany vs. USA
We thought it would be fun to share with you some of the differences between our lives in America and Germany! So here are 10 things we had in the USA that we don’t have anymore in Germany. Next week, we’ll share with you 10 things we have in Germany, but didn’t have in the USA. Hope you enjoy! If you’re also an American living in Germany, what can you add to what we’ve listed here? And just note – this is a fun video, not meant at all to pass judgement on either country or ways of life. Both have their pros and cons and that’s the beauty of living abroad is you get to try out new ways of doing things and see what you like best!
Also, our other disclaimer is that just because we don’t have these things doesn’t mean no one in Germany has them. For instance, we don’t have a tumble dryer but about 40-50% of Germans do own tumble dryers. They mostly only use them for sheets and towels and most do not use them all the time. Also, we do not own a car but many Germans do. So our experience does not represent everyone in Germany. Keep that in mind as you watch our video!
