Our Experience with German Kindergarten

Here is part two of our German Kindergarten Culture Shocks series! If you haven’t seen part one yet, watch that first or this video might not make much sense. 🙂

In this video, we will share your comments about kindergarten, talk about Vorschule (preschool), and share our daughter’s experience so far in a German kindergarten as an American girl. When we moved to Germany, we put a lot of thought and effort into helping our three boys integrate into Grundschule (elementary school). We honestly thought starting Ella in Kindergarten would be easy…but we were wrong! See how it was for her and how we all grew and learned through the experience.

Our Story

In February 2021, we packed up our American family of six, with four kids ages 11 and under, and moved halfway across the world to Germany to follow our dream of living in Europe again! When we were first married, we lived for two years in France and fell in love with the European way of life. Moving to Germany has been a whirlwind, especially with four kids in tow, but we’re already growing stronger and better from the experiences we are having. It has NOT been easy, but that’s how it usually is in life when you go after your dreams!
